Keys to Remember About Urgot

  1. You have... shotguns... in your knee caps. And you six legs, which means six knee caps. Urgot's power is largely invested in his auto-attacks as a result -- you need to be weaving them in between abilities!

  2. Your Fear Beyond Death [R] is an extremely strong CC tool. One common combo with Urgot is to Flash in once you've secured an execute so that you can immediately fear enemies on the kill.

Strengths

Well, if you stick shotguns into your kneecaps, then you are going to have very good auto-attack potential. That’s Echoing Flames [P] and it makes Urgot extremely strong from the get go. This allows him to be a bit of a bully early on in the game, especially if consistently lands Corrosive Charge [Q] on them -- this can be followed up with all-in potential thanks to Disdain [E]. That makes his gank setup extremely potent, especially once he’s able to reach level 6 and get Fear Beyond Death [R] online. It’s a great ability at executing champions and can be an extremely good team fight snowballing ability in the mid and late game if he’s able to chain it into an AoE fear on enemies.

Weaknesses

He’s in an awkward spot in that he doesn’t bring the most damage to the table nor is he the tankiest champion. This means he’s a champion that does extremely well if he’s ahead, but if he’s behind, then he can often feel completely useless to your team. He’ll need to rely on his ultimate to help execute tanky champions or to secure kills on enemies who are running away. He’s also fairly immobile, which means enemies can pick him off pretty easily, especially if he becomes too focused on shooting his shotguns.

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: You should look to bully enemies as much as possible -- the whole kit offers a lot of potential at poking down and then jumping on enemies, but auto-attacking them will still be your bread and butter.

  2. Mid Game: The goal is to split push and then bide your time before going in on team fights -- if your team is able to poke someone down, you can commit to ulting them and killing them to start fights off with a big fear.

  3. Late Game: Same game plan as mid game, though you don’t scale as well as other champions. You’re better off playing a mid range role where you try to peel more than you dive.
