Overview
Ever wonder if your team actually needs smokes? Well, yes. Very much so. But what about the rest of the roles? Can you play a game without a certain role? We dove into the stats to give you a look at what games look like without certain roles.
Overall
Filtered for Diamond+ on Patch 11.09, here are win rates with and without certain roles:
Role | Win Rate |
|---|---|
Controller | 50.3% |
No Controller | 40.0% |
Duelist | 50.3% |
No Duelist | 45.5% |
Initiator | 50.2% |
No Initiator | 51.3% |
Sentinel | 50.5% |
No Sentinel | 46.1% |
As you can see, not having a Controller, Duelist, or Sentinel is detrimental to your win chances -- especially not having a Controller. But not having an Initiator is actually fine if not slightly better for you win chances. The class recently saw nerfs across the board that may have contributed to this!
Here are some popular comp set ups and how they fair:
Comp | Win Rate |
|---|---|
Duelist 2x + Controller + Initiator + Sentinel | 50.2% |
Sentinel 2x + Controller + Duelist + Initiator | 50.5% |
Initiator 2x + Controller + Duelist + Sentinel | 47.6% |
Controller 2x + Duelist + Initiator + Sentinel | 48.7% |
Duelist 3x + Controller + Sentinel | 51.2% |
Duelist 3x + Controller + Initiator | 47.4% |
Duelist 4x + Controller | 49.1% |
Duelist 5x | 43.7% |
The moral of the story is to have at least one controller, but never more than one! And maybe think twice about committing to those 5x Duelist lobbies...
