TFT Set 15: How to Play Kai'Sa Reroll

TFT Set 15: How to Play Kai'Sa Reroll

Overview

Patch 15.3 is fresh off the press and the meta has shifted quite a bit with comps like Sorcs dropping out in favor of Star Guardians. Kai'Sa, however, has basically remained untouched and is arguably the best re-roll comp in the game to play when you find an early Kai'Sa.

When to Play

  • You find a Kai'Sa by 2-1 or 2-2 and have Kennen and protector frontline or juggernauts to pair with her. It's fairly important to find the Kai'Sa early because she passively stacks AD every time she gets a kill. She also pairs well with "Over 9000" if you're able to find that fruit early, but it's not mandatory.

  • You have swords and gloves early.

  • You have a good artifact for her such as Fishbones or Manazane.

  • You have good augments and econ for rerolling.

How to Play

  • It's not impossible to force this comp without Kai'Sa early, but it's way stronger to do so because of her passive. This also means you want to be strong enough to kill units throughout Stage 2 -- you don't necessarily need to win every fight, but you'll want to avoid forcing this comp in situations where you are getting crushed in every fight.

  • Fishbones instantly turns this into an S-Tier comp because it allows her ultimate to randomly target backline units and delete them.

  • The exact frontline you run can vary, but the above Rammus version is the strongest. You can alternatively play around 4 Juggernaut, 4 Mentors, or even Protectors if the situation calls for it, though.

  • Your secondary carry is going to be Darius or Akali -- it depends on if you can get Darius 3-star or not, and it depends on what other items you have. Darius 3-star is the most consistent duo.

  • You'll want to find Rammus as soon as possbile to collect monster levels for him. You can dig for the "Rare Treat" fruit on Stage 4 (it does not show before this) to give him an extra 15 levels early -- this will let him reach his level 30 power spike and then once you are level 45 with it, you can remove the fruit for a better option.

  • You want to follow the which you can read more in depth about here.

Stage

Level

2-X

If you can be strong early, you can play to win and follow the Standard Tempo timings. If you are weak, you can just maximize money as much as possible (do not buy EXP) and rush to 50g.

3-1

Level to 5 at this point if you didn’t the previous turn to help beat Krugs.

3-2

Level to 6 and roll until you’ve upgraded your core 2-cost units + found 1 Rammus

3-X

The rest of this stage, you should try to build your economy back up to 50g, and then from there slow roll down to 50g for your units.

4-2

By this point in the game, if you are low on HP and still not winning, you may need to roll down to 10g every turn until you are one away from your core units, and then roll until 0. If you have a lot of HP left, you can just roll down to 50g and take your time finding your units.

5-2

Ideally you can push to level 8 by this turn, but sometimes you’ll get stuck on level 7 for the rest of Stage 5 or even the entire game.

6-X

You ideally want to push 9 at some point -- probably after you hit your 4-cost units, but if you can't build up the econ, you can just roll every turn for whatever upgrades you still need.
