Sova VALORANT Guide

Sova VALORANT Guide

Overview

If you just watched Lord of the Rings and feel like you could be Legolas, then Sova is the agent for you. Why is he shooting a bow when he has a gun? To farm aura of course. Sova is a classic initiator who is great at flushing enemies out of tight angles both near and far.

Role: Initiator

Initiators can gain information on enemy position for your team and they can help flush enemies out of tight hiding spots.

On defense, their utility is used to gain information first and foremost, but they are also adept at supporting aggressive plays and retake scenarios.

On attack, their utility is used to clear tight angles and to make it harder for opponents to sit in expected defensive positions.

Tips and Tricks

  • Sova is one of the best agents in the game when it comes to using the Odin, because he can ping enemy locations with multiple abilities, which will then allow him to penetrate them through thin walls.

  • You can move your Hunter's Fury [X] as you are firing it so that it sweeps a little left or right instead of shooting as a straight line. This will make it more difficult for opponents to dodge, but if you do end up missing, you can use your minimap as a guide on where to aim his ultimate. You can just fire a random shot at common enemy locations if you're out of information.

  • He’s one of the easier initiators to play with even if you aren’t the best at communicating your intentions to your teammates. All they have to do is wait for your Owl Drone [C] to start flying and many of them will automatically follow it. You can then follow up with a Recon Bolt [E] to clear deeper angles for them.

  • Once you've confirmed enemy positions, you can force them out with Shock Bolt [Q] and have teammates ready to fire at them.

  • Sova, like many initiators, is an agent who benefits greatly from learning lineups, which you can find here
