Overview
A champion that has spent a large amount of time in the spotlight that is pro play, Sejuani is a jungler that specializes in safety and team fighting. Her ultimate is a great tool for starting fights as it can be used to find picks or to just outright start a big brawl. She has great maneuverability early to allow her to slip into pockets for ganks and will be a solid pick to have in your pocket. Keys to Remember About Sejuani
You miss every shot you don't take! Glacial Prison [R] can be difficult to land on enemies from a distance, but being able to get picks with it will allow you to more easily follow up with Permafrost [E]. Winter's Wrath [W] can help you slide into unexpected angles to land it (or it can simply just get you closer).
Sejuani can be lacking in damage, which means her potential as a carry jungler is very limited. She's very much a pick oriented around enabling your team, so don't expect to have crazy popoff montages with her -- you won't be able to win if you don't get your carries some kills and then keep them alive in fights!
Strengths
Sejuani is a champion with a lot of team fighting options thanks to being able to charge in with Arctic Assault [Q] to look for melee range CC with either her Winter’s Wrath [W] or Permafrost [E]. Or she can opt for an even further target by throwing her Glacial Prison [R] -- it’s a ton of CC potential in her kit, and combined with the passive tankiness she gains from Fury of the North [P], she’s a very potent team fighter when it comes to getting fights started for your team. She also has a fairly safe early clear -- all of these factors made her a very reliable pro pick for years, and in Solo Queue, she’ll be great if your team is lacking in engage options.
Weaknesses
Sej is a champion that can wind up on a lot of blooper reels thanks to missing her abilities -- even pro players have been famous for the many whiffs on Glacial Prison [R], and you’re also going to miss a lot of them if you are trying to optimize its potential. Because it’s an ability that can land from range, there will be plenty of times where you aim for a pick instead of going for the safe guaranteed hit on a closer player. Winter’s Wrath [W] also has a very clear indicator that enemies can juke out, and once her passive is down, she’s going to be much easier to burst down. This also makes her ganks less reliable before she’s able to hit level 6.
Game Plan
Early Game: You want to farm and push for level 6 as quickly as possible, at which point you should repeatedly gank whenever your ultimate is online.
Mid Game: She’s a great team fighter and the mid game is full of favorable fights for her, as enemies are unlikely to have too much damage just yet. Looking for picks and try to force the issue!
Late Game: The plan doesn’t change much from mid game, but at this point you’ll want to help peel for your carries instead of going gungho on dives.
