Raze VALORANT Guide

Raze VALORANT Guide

Overview

Do abilities kill people or do guns kill people? Why not both? Raze was the original poster child for VALORANT when it came to agents finding kills with their abilities. She’s a high-flying entry duelist who compliments most teams very well thanks to her ability to break angles and flush enemies out of tight corners.

Role: Duelist

Duelists are the primary entry agent for your team.

On defense, they look to hold early angles opponents might peek from to get information, or they may work with your team’s initiators to make aggressive plays on defense. They also are the ones most likely to push through an opening to find a flank.

On attack, they are expected to be the first person to break an angle. Many duelists come equipped with tools that enable this, which means duelists are usually the agents who will see the most gun fights throughout the course of a game.

Tips and Tricks

  • Raze’s bread and butter is her Blast Packs [Q], and being able to master them is what’s going to differentiate you from others. It’s a fairly difficult thing to accomplish mechanically, though, so you may need to spend some time practicing it. The biggest thing you need to be able to do is double satchel onto a site and landing where you intend.

  • Blast Pack [Q] can also be used off of a wall next to you to help you swing an angle at an unexpected speed -- it’s kind of like combining a wide swing with a close peek.

  • Blast Pack [Q] can also be used to propel Boom Bot [C] forward or upwards, which can sometimes help it explode on an opponent before they shoot it.

  • Blast Pack [Q] (as you can see, it does a lot of stuff…) can also dislodge an opponent. For example, if you know they’re in a corner, you can blast pack them before swinging into them as they’ll be briefly displaced and unable to properly shoot back.

  • There isn’t really much to Paint Shells [E] -- you throw them and they blow up, but you can also underhand toss them with your alternate fire. It’s a great ability to pair up with allies who can help root opponents in place, and it’s also good at flushing out one part of a site while you clear another.

  • Your Showstopper [R] can penetrate thin walls and kill opponents. It can also be used as part of your satchel combo to further increase your distance, though it’s difficult to master.
