Neon VALORANT Guide

Neon VALORANT Guide

Overview

What do Sonic the Hedgehog, The Flash, and Neon all have in common? That’s right. They’re all fictional characters. And they also go zoom. Neon is a speedster who can literally dart around the map with her abilities and break angles and ankles as she zips past a corner. She’s a duelist that can be extremely hard to pin down, and her speedy abilities makes her one of the best agents in the game at going from point A to point B (or literally A site to B site).

Role: Duelist

Duelists are the primary entry agent for your team.

On defense, they look to hold early angles opponents might peek from to get information, or they may work with your team’s initiators to make aggressive plays on defense. They also are the ones most likely to push through an opening to find a flank.

On attack, they are expected to be the first person to break an angle. Many duelists come equipped with tools that enable this, which means duelists are usually the agents who will see the most gun fights throughout the course of a game.

Tips and Tricks

  • Neon is a bit of a unique character in that her movement can be difficult to adjust to (for both user and enemy alike). This is thanks to High Gear [E], which lets her increase her move speed significantly. Typically you run and then use the alt fire to Electric Slide [E] past an angle -- it’s very difficult for enemies to kill a speedy character in motion.

  • You can make your slide even safer by first using Relay Bolt [Q] to clear an angle -- there are a lot of creative angles for the bolts to hit and you can effectively clear two spots on a site with proper use.

  • Without information, though, Neon’s Fast Lane [C] and literally create safe passage for you and your team to enter a site. It’s typically used to block off one side of the site so she can fight on the other (like Phoenix’s fire wall).

  • Fast Lane [C] is deep enough that it can also allow her to entirely circumvent the site and push towards the enemy spawn.

  • All of these abilities make it easier to use Overdrive [X], which lets her easily zap enemies even while she’s moving. She’s very difficult to kill when she’s moving nonstop while still having good accuracy on this ability.

  • High Gear [E] is great at enabling Neon to fight one side of the map and then instantly rotate to another. The speed can also give her some creative jump peak angles -- one common tactic is to jump peak with it and then Electric Slide out for the finisher.
