Milio Build Guide

Milio Build Guide

Overview

Enemy team have a lot of CC? Look no further than Milio -- with a built in team wide cleanse, he’s an enchanter support who can quickly free your teammates from whatever shackles enemies may throw at them. He’s also capable of providing a lot of shielding and buffs to your teammates, which means he’ll excel with champions who have hyper carry potential, and will be a great pick for any team lacking in utility. Keys to Remember About Milio

  1. Milio is a great pick into teams with hard CC -- his disengage potential is unmatched in League of Legends. This makes him a worse pick into teams low on CC (though you could argue those team comps aren't very good anyway).

  2. The biggest thing to master with him is positioning: you need to be close enough to your allies to instantly cleanse them but far enough away to not get hit by whatever CC hit them. If you're alive, you can save your allies, but typically not vice versa!

Strengths

Breath of Life [R] makes him one of the best disengage champions in the game, which in turn makes him one of the best re-engage champions as well, as your team can counter a large AoE ult and instantly turn on whoever casted it, so long as he himself was able to avoid the initial engage. Combine this with the fact that he can provide your team with shielding, healing, CC, and even extra range on their attacks, that makes him an enchanter with a ton of utility in his kit. So long as he’s able to stay alive and position himself safely, he’s going to make it extremely hard for enemy teams -- especially enemy comps centered around picks -- to pick your team off.

Weaknesses

Positioning properly is going to be key for Milio. It’s one thing to say you should play back and safely with him and another thing entirely to actually do it. He still needs to be close enough to his allies to pop his ultimate after they’ve been hit by enemy CC but not him. This sometimes means the zone for execution can be small, especially because you want to pop your ultimate as soon as possible to get maximum value on it. This also means that enemy teams who focus their picks onto him are going to completely negate his ability to kill CC -- he’ll be forced to blow everything early in the fight (if he’s not already dead from the initial engage).

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: Focus on poking out enemies with your Ultra Mega Fire Kick [Q]. You generally want to be chipping away at enemies early instead of committing to fights, as you can heal back up with Cozy Campfire [W] and find winning trades thanks to the shielding on Warm hugs [E].

  2. Mid Game: In fights, your goal is to peel for your carries and enable them to deal damage. Your job is to play safe and stay alive so that you can keep your allies alive!

  3. Late Game: The plan doesn’t change much from the mid game. The big difference is you are even more susceptible to being killed by enemies at this point, so be sure to stay back. Sometimes you need to let your allies die and live to fight another day if they are completely out of positon.
