Harbor VALORANT Guide

Harbor VALORANT Guide

Overview

Everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Harbor is a water bender from the southern water tribes (this is canon -- if you don’t believe us, well, don’t Google it…), and he specializes in building up walls of water to block off vision for his enemies. Could there be more effective uses for water in life or death scenarios? Probably. But that wouldn’t fit his identity as a controller agent in a video game, and you are picking him because you need him to put up some walls.

Role: Controller

Controllers are responsible for putting down smokes.

On defense, they drop smokes on entry angles where the enemy team is approaching from. They can also block enemy vision to create new angles for your team to push out aggressively or to hide in an unexpected angle.

On attack, they drop smokes on key defensive positions where enemies are likely to sit. Their goal is to limit the number of angles an entry player needs to be wary of while entering a site.

Tips and Tricks

  • Your primary ability, High Tide [E] is unique in that it can cut through terrain and place a wall of water on both sides of it. This means he can block off multiple angles with a single ability on most sites.

  • Combined with Cascade [C], Harbor can create a lot of unique angles (especially if his walls cross each other) for your team to play in. As the wall also slows enemies, it can also be used to aggressively push an angle.

  • Cove [Q] is typically used to help secure a spike plant, as it provides a safety dome for allies. This is also helpful when trying to defuse the spike -- enemies will need to shoot it, thus revealing their position.

  • Reckoning [X] is a pretty simple and straightforward ability. It creates a ton of chaos on the field as enemies need to constantly move to avoid being stunned, but it also thrives if other allies are able to create chaos -- even forcing someone to stop for a second can concuss them.
