TFT Set 18.3b Core comps explained

Spellweaver Elderwood Veigar reroll

 Conditions:

  • Must start with a strong Veigar + Ornn opener to start stacking Veigar passive immediately.

  • Multiple copies of Veigar and Ornn

  • Special items: Dawncore (S), , Eternal Pact (A), Luden’s Tempest (B)

  • At least 1 Veigar / Ornn item slam: Blue buff > Gargoyles Stoneplate > Jeweled Gauntlet

Augments:

  • Special: Portable Forge, Prismatic ticket, Nesting Anvil

  • Standard:Item = Econ > Combat.

  1. Standard 1-cost reroll comp focusing around Veigar and Ornn as the key units

  2.  Leblanc is also important but not as much as the first 2

  3. Sacrifice the lifebloom plant in Black-thorn hex during the early game. Later on - Sac any spellweaver that would give Veigar the most damage stats.

Juggernaut Ashe TFT Comp

 Conditions:

  • Strong AD Opener with upgraded units and item slams

  • Econ Augment / Strong economy for a high probability of level 9 at 5-1 / 5-2

  • Blossom + Shojin opener, 4 Juggernauts + Blossom (Yorick, Yunara, Karma) is the META mid-game transition board

  • Turtle Primal buff is necessary for this composition.

Augments:

  • Special: Late-Game scaling S+, Level Up S, Late Game Specialist A+, Hedge Fund A+

  • Standard: Econ > Items / Econ > Combat

1. For this Fast 9, you should ideally play win streak by flexing any juggernauts you find along with any backline carries you hit

2. Frontline is 6 Juggernauts - and Flex any backline. Zyra + Sivir is the reccomended Flex option, Zyra's passive gives durability which compliments the comp well, Sivir is there as a duo carry to stabilize until 9.

3. Position Ashe to mirror the enemy carry diagonally, a misplaced Ashe can make or break a fight

Aphelios Nidalee Flex TFT Comp 18.3b

Conditions:

  • Strong AD opener, Ravagers, Hunters, Rapid-fires etc.

  • AD item slams: do not greed best in slot, slam items and win-streak for tempo

  • Scouting the lobby shows high probability of winning most early fights and ability to play aggressive tempo

  • Guinsoo's isn't ideal for Aphelios, however it's a strong early item. Early game damage is low = fights are drawn out longer, which increases its value, and therefore is a slammable item for tempo. In high elo, you will even see Guinsoo's slammed on AP Casters during the early game.

  • Special items: Collector Aphelios (S+), Silvermere Dawn Nidalee (S)

Augments:

  • Special:  Deadlier Blades S+, Bronze 4 Life S, Sword overflow S-, Focused Fire S-, Item extraction (to replicate BF Swords) A+

  • Standard: Item > Econ > Combat

  1. Standard Fast 8 comp, you will roll down heavily on 4-2 or 4-1 depending on your economy. Do not level to 9 until all key 4-costs have been 2-starred

  2. It’s imperative you play 2-1 onwards from a winning position as you want to preserve as much health as possible, whilst dealing as much damage as possible

  3. If played correctly with tempo, you may not be able to get bows from the carousel, so play this with early AD items from your PVE rounds

  4. Do not force and bleed for this comp as it gets outscaled due to its low cap ceiling. The idea is to apply early pressure to enemies who are greeding econ, bleeding out to force it is counter-intuitive unless you naturally roll Aphelios and Nidalees with good items + desperate for a pivot

  5. Nidalee should be on the same side as the enemy carry

Executioner Summoner Malphite TFT Set 18.3b comp

 Conditions:

  • AP Opener

  • Executioner Emblem (optional) S Tier with it

  • 'Scouting lobby shows AD heavy boards and unlikely to contest Malphite

  • Somewhat BIS dependent, so good AP items is necessary

Augments:

  • Special: Seraphim's Staff, Portable Forge, Solo Plate, Cybernetic Uplink, Pandora's items

  • Standard:Item = Econ > Combat.

  1. Standard Fast 8 comp, you will roll down heavily on 4-2 or 4-1 depending on your economy. Do not level to 9 until all key 4-costs have been 2-starred

  2. You only need: Soraka, Zyra, Malphite, Azir and Fiddle. The rest you can flex depending on who you naturally roll. Fiddlesticks in Blackthorn Hex

  3. Due to the emergence of other META comps, Malphite is less contested. Whilst the comp isn't as dominant as before, the ability to hit the board whilst other META units get contested could give you an advantage in board-strength during the level 8 roll down

  4. BIS Malphite is necessary as he is a solo tank. Gargoyles, Warmogs, Crownguard (Heartsteel, Spirit Visage)

  5. You can also pivot to this from 6 Juggernaut Zyra

Overall the META hasn't changed much, it has become noticeably become more flexible but the core comps from 18.3 remain in play.

My advice in Set 18 in general: is to play your strongest board and Flex. There is no 1 dominant comp, and if there was: it would be 6 Juggernaut Flex, which the name speaks for itself

Shojin and Red buff are the best slams right now along with a Blossom opener, they're no longer generic, but essential in multiple META compositions. Loss streaking feels like a dead-end, as the win streakers will most likely push for 9 and aim to cap

Additionally wisps are too important + costly for mild econ advantages to matter, they can completely influence a fight; making mediocre boards S+ for one round.

Many of the late game fights are squeezing a top 4 by inches, health is more valuable than in previous sets. Along with the set's flex ability - chances are, your final capped board could still lose to a well-flexed upgraded board.

Strongest board -> Flex is the best option in this META for HP preservation and high average placements
