Overview
Bombs away! Ziggs is one of the best poke champions in the game, as he comes with kit that provides not just one or two but four unique abilities that can each be fire from a distance and then do damage to his opponents. He’s great at keeping enemies away from him while poking them down and should be a great pick for any team that needs more damage -- especially chip damage. Keys to Remember About Ziggs
Satchel Charge [W] is extremely strong at taking out turrets, but it's also your main defensive tool -- make sure to lay Hexplosive Minefield [E] on approaching chokes to keep enemies at bay while you use it, or just save it until you're sure you can walk away from the turret.
Mega Inferno Bomb [R] is a really strong tool for controlling side waves in the mid and late game -- don't be afraid to use it to get a favorable minion wave on the side lanes for your team if no one is able to go catch it themselves.
Strengths
Ziggs has a ton of poke, with Bouncing Bomb [Q] being the centerpiece of his artillery. It’s a pretty simple play pattern to sit back and throw the bomb, as he can do it from early on without worrying too much about his mana due to its low cost. And if he’s able to constantly land it on enemies, then it will give him a big advantage early. He can also just focus on pushing the lane with the help of Hexplosive Minefield [E], which can also serve as a tool to zone enemies away. And once he’s able to get close to the turrets, he can start whittling away before finishing them off with Satchel Charge [W]. All of these make him one of the strongest sieging champions in the game -- if you’re ahead, he can help ensure that you stay ahead.
Weaknesses
He has a lot of deterrents when it comes to zone control -- Explosive Minefield [E], for example, will discourage enemies from running at him. But, unfortunately, it doesn’t actually stop them from doing it. He’s a very squishy champion that can be killed very quickly, and while he has a lot of damage in his kit, it becomes better over a prolonged period of time as opposed to being able to instantly burst enemies rushing him. Mega Inferno Bomb [R] is great at ensuring you can chunk them out if they go on you, but it’s better used from distance to get more damage. And, ultimately, all of his abilities can be dodged with relative ease -- much of it will come down to individual skill shot accuracy.
Game Plan
Early Game: You can aim for poke with Bouncing Bomb [Q], but it may be easier to focus on shoving the wave to keep enemies more focused on the minions than on you. Don’t be afraid to use Mega Inferno Bomb [R] to clear waves if it helps secure a good recall timing for you (or if it can catch a big wave on a different lane if your ally has just died).
Mid Game: You want to accelerate your turret taking prowess by rotating lanes to the easiest possible turret whenever you can. You’ll also want to keep poking at enemies whenever you see them.
Late Game: Game plan is the same as mid game, though at this point it will be harder to find turrets. You should focus on poking and use your ultimate early, even, if you can guarantee that it hits priority targets.
