Overview

A huge patch is dropping to address some of the early concerns around the set (fights are too long and balancing is off). You can read the full notes here.

Systems

  • Roles

    • Fighters

      • No longer gain omnivamp

      • Gain attack speed

    • Assassins

      • No longer exists

      • All changed to become Fighters

  • Prismatic Orbs -- everyone gets the same orb now with increased possibilities in options:

    • 10% - 30 Gold

    • 10% - 3 Component Anvils & 1 Full Item Anvil

    • 10% - 4 Belts & 4 Reforgers

    • 10% - 1 Greater Duplicator & 2 Lesser Duplicators

    • 10% - 1 Artifact Anvil & 10 Gold

    • 8% - 45 Gold

    • 8% - 3 Full Item Anvils

    • 8% - 1 Spatula, 1 Reforger, 3 Component Anvils

    • 8% - 1 Rascal Gloves & 1 Thieves Gloves

    • 5% - 1 of each base component (8 total) & Golden Remover

    • 5% - 40 Gold & 20 Rerolls

    • 5% - 1 Radiant Lucky Chest & 2 5-Cost Champions

    • 1% - 1 Spatula, 1 Frying Pan, 40 Gold

    • 1% - A tiny present

    • 1% - A fishy reward

Traits

  • Heavyweight (6) +5% HP

  • Mighty Mech (7) +100 HP

  • Wraith shadow cadence 5s -> 4s

    • Will proc more often. Pretty significant boost

Units

  • 1-Cost

    • Sivir +5 AD and mana buffed

  • 2-Cost

    • Janna damage buffed

    • Vi heal increased

  • 3-Cost

    • Malzahar mana decreased

    • Senna quality of life updates to her beam

      • Lowered damage in response but could still be a net nerf

    • Smolder damage increased

    • Ziggs damage increased

  • 4-Cost

    • Poppy adjusted to scale off of HP

    • Samira damage increased

  • 5-Cost

    • Twisted Fate spell damage increased but damage per mark decreased

      • Makes him stronger against weak units and weaker against giga tanks

Nerfs

Traits

  • Luchador no longer gains immunity and untargetability

    • Instead heals (and for more) before jumping, but this is a net nerf for those units because of how powerful becoming untargetable is.

  • Prodigy now only 1 main regen at all tiers for non-prodigy teammates

  • Protector nerfed at all tiers

  • Star Guardian bonus per tier nerfed at all tiers

    • Individual unit buffs increased to compensate. This weakens vertical Star Guardian in favor of playing fewer units in the line.

Units

  • 1-Cost

    • Malphite HP and resist per item nerfed

  • 2-Cost

    • Kai'Sa damage decreased

  • 3-Cost

    • Udyr healing decreased

  • 4-Cost

    • Leona resist decreased

    • Ryze damage decreased

    • Yuumi AP decreased

  • 5-Cost

    • Zyra team-wide AS nerfed and melee plant HP nerfed

      • Damage increased to compensate, but will still be a net nerf

Notable Item Changes

  • Archangel's scaling nerfed

  • Kraken's nerfed

  • Fishbones AS nerfed

    • Item will still be extremely strong

  • Flickerblades nerfed again

  • Innervating locket nerfed

    • Should help a lot against Garen builds

New Power Ups

  • Shine Brighter – Lux only. Every other cast, Lux's spell explodes in a 2-hex radius, and deals 10% more damage.

    • Could be good for Xin + Lux reroll

  • Mechablade – Aatrox only. Aatrox gains AS equal to 4% of his maximum health, and his attacks grant 5 bonus mana.

    • Probably unplayable

  • Supreme Surge – Kennen only. Whenever an enemy is executed by a Supreme Cell, Kennen heals 15% of his missing health and gains 15 mana.

    • Kennen hero augment might be good with this

  • Golden Gloves – Kobuko only. When you gain interest, gain 1.5% AD per gold collected.

    • Has potential in vertical Heavyweight lines with multiple buffs to it

  • Veteran – This unit is a Mentor. They grant 4% damage amp, and their Mentor upgrade is +35 AD and +35 AP, Katarina, Xayah, and Kalista only.

    • Probably not good

  • Drift Duo – Senna and Lucian gain +3 mana regen. If both are 3-star, gain +1 mech.

    • Probably not good

  • Starry Knight – Rell only. Rell gains 6% Health and 10 AP for every 1-cost unit you field. 3-star units count double.

    • Could be good with Garen, Syndra, and Ezreal reroll

Conclusion

  • Yuumi + Prodigy is dead

  • Ryze + Mentor Mech is still going to be S-Tier

  • Kai'Sa still okay

  • Star Guardian still good

  • 3 Star Guardian comps like Jinx + Luchador or Xayah + Rakan will be very good, especially with the augment

  • Fast 9 will still be strong

  • 6 Wraith will be lowkey very good

  • Duelist Ashe was already trending downwards and should continue to do so
