Overview
Exotech Vex surged in prominence throughout TFT Patch 14.2 thanks to being a reliable level 8 comp, and it's centered around Vex and Varus. Below is the board you're looking to play.
When to Play
- You have Morgana and Jax early
- Your first two exo tech items are Hyper Fang or Holobow (both good on Varus)
- You have a tear and don't know what else to play
How to Play
- This is a comp that follows a standard leveling curve, which you can read more in depth about here.
| Stage | Level |
|---|---|
| 2-1 | Buy XP to hit Level 4 |
| 2-5 | Level 5 |
| 3-2 | Level 6 |
| 4-1 | Level 7 |
| 4-2 | Level 8 + Roll until stable* |
| 5-2 | Level 9 |
| 5-5 | Level 9 (if not earlier) |
| 6-1 | Level 9 (if neither of previous timings worked) |
- Blue Buff + Gunblade are the two non-negotiable items for this comp, though in a pinch you can get away with other items as long as you were winning early.
- If your 2nd Exotech item isn't very good, you can drop down to 3 Exotech and play any Divinicorps or 5-cost units you find instead.
- The end game cap almost always revolves around finding Aurora, Viego, and Renekton -- you can drop down to 3 exotech (usually keep Varus, Mordekaiser, and Sejuani) for these units.
Best Items
| Vex | Varus |
|---|---|
| Sejuani | Viego |
|---|---|
Win Conditions
- Level 9 with Viego 2 and Aurora 2
- If uncontested (rest of lobby is playing Zeri and Brand, for example), you can look for Vex 3
- This is a good comp to pivot into from a Cypher opener
