Lee Sin Build Guide

Lee Sin Build Guide

Overview

Lee Sin is a champion that sometimes pops up as a laner because he’s considered one of the funnest champions to play in the game. He has an extremely mobile kit with high outplay ability, and the difference between a master of Lee Sin and a random person just giving it a try is night and day. Click here for the latest data on his best builds, including Runes, Items, Summoner Spells, and more.

Top 3 Things to Remember About Lee Sin

  1. Dragon’s Rage highlight reels often include making full use of his mobility, but it can be just as effective to bowl your target into multiple others to knock them up.

  2. Be sure to hold onto your yellow warding trinket to be able to jump to many positions with Safeguard.

  3. Landing Sonic Wave is the strongest way to close a gap, but you can just as easily Safeguard to a ward or a nearby minion to first land a Tempest into Cripple combo.

Strengths

Lee Sin is a very potent early game jungler who can easily snowball the game if you are able to find successful ganks. He’ll feel like an inescapable menace in the hands of a competent player thanks to the many different tools at his disposal for engaging on enemy champions. Even if does fall behind, all it takes is one good Dragon’s Rage that sends a critical carry into your team’s waiting arms to swing the tides of the game.

Weaknesses

His utility will feel lacking if he’s forced to just peel for his carries as the game goes on. His playmaking will feel limited if he falls behind on items, as he can be easy to burst down, and skilled enemies will position themselves in a way to avoid being kicked backwards into the team. And because he has such a high skill ceiling, even veteran Lee Sin players will make mechanical mistakes over the course of a game, especially as damage becomes more lethal and enemies become accustomed to your approaches.

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: Look to gank and force the issue early -- Lee is very strong at this phase of the game and you don’t want to let other junglers outscale you.

  2. Mid Game: Lee Sin can seemingly come out of nowhere to backup teammates, so look for numerical advantages around the map.

  3. Late Game: If you’re ahead of the curve in terms of items, you can still look to make aggressive plays with Dragon’s Rage, but it can be okay to just sit back and protect your carries if they are strong.
